Please post in the forum for the day a short essay in response to this question:

Your textbook chapter mentions certain peoples, such as the Lydians, Etruscans, and Phoenicians, when their history intersects with the history of Persian, Greek, and Roman expansion. Two other peoples that flourished in Eurasia within this same time period are the Scythians and the Celts.

Choose either the Scythian or the Celtic peoples and do some research to learn more about how these peoples lived in the same time period. In general,

• What do we know about them in terms of resources, community, and power?
• Where did they live? (Who lived there before them?)
• When does their history intersect with the history of Persia or of Rome? (It may help to know that the Gauls and the Britons are Celtic peoples.)
• Find and link to some examples of their material culture (such as art and artifacts, burial sites, or excavation sites) that you find interesting, and discuss.
