Please have your archaeology dig reports loaded to the appropriate forum and be ready to talk about them in class.

We have focused largely on MesoAmerican and South American sites, but most of us live in North America. The emphasis of most world history and US history courses is on post-European contact periods, so you may not be very much aware of how far back humans lived in your location. Spend a short time doing some research and see if you can find out

• What is the earliest known inhabited site near you (at least, within your state)?
• Are there archaeological sites near you investigating Clovis or even pre-Clovis cultures (pre-1000 BCE)?

Yes, this is a short assignment since your archaeology dig presentations are due today.
