Come find out in our summer course!
Using the instructor's own short videos (hosted on YouTube), animations, weekly map assignments, and live chat discussions, Around the World in Nine Weeks introduces students to geography concepts and the major features of each of the continents and oceans, providing the geographic background necessary for history, literature, and science courses.
During this nine-week course we will cover
Prerequisite: None. While this course is designed for middle school students, anyone wishing better familiarity with our world and better map reading skills is welcome.
Meetings: The course meets once a week for 90 minutes. See the Upcoming Summer Schedule for topics.
No texts are required. We will rely extensively on available web resources, however, so a reliable internet connection is critical for both chat and preparation time.
Only a current version of one of the standard browsers is required. Exercises and projects will be hosted on the Scholars Online Moodle server.
Enrollment for the 2024-2025 summer session opens March 1, 2024. Please use the Scholars Online website to review tuition and fees for this course.
To attend pre-session orientation to the Scholars Online Chat and Moodle platforms, be sure to enroll by May 31, 2024.
