Please prepare: Aelfric, Preface to Genesis
The reading here is fairly substantial, but it’s also reasonably accessible. Aelfric wrote many homilies, and his writing tends to be pitched in general to the common reader — neither overly poetic nor overly learned. Presumably you already know what’s going on in Genesis, so you have a head start.
