Two opposing goals flow through these speeches: the narrowing goals of nationalism and the expanding goals of the pan-Arab and pan-Asian movements. How are these goals explained in the speeches of the leaders below? How were they in conflict? How were they mutually supportive? To what extent were the goals realized?
